Job DescriptionIU Health has an outstanding opportunity available for a Nursing Professional Development Generalist to join our team in our Education Department at Bedford Hospital! This position will be a full-time day shift role.
The Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPD) role is multifaceted and includes functioning as a Learning Facilitator, Change Agent, Mentor, Leader, Champion for Inquiry, Advocate for the NPD Specialty, and Partner for Practice Transitions.
Orientation & Onboarding - The NPD role plays a vital role in decreasing turnover, supporting orientees, and developing coaches as informal leaders.
Education - The NPD is trained to apply evidence-based concepts such as adult learning methods and brain-based learning techniques to educate new and experienced staff members.
Role Development - The NPD serves as a mentor by offering their expertise and resources to support team members' professional development.
The NPD also leads by example by aligning their work with the vision and values of the organization.
Competency Management - The NPD creates sustainable programs by only requiring staff to complete meaningful and valuable competencies.
Inquiry - The NPD guides staff through the process of completing EBP projects, submitting abstracts, presenting at conferences, and publishing manuscripts.
Collaborative Relationships - The NPD builds and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with various disciplines that share common goals.

Models the application of evidence based practice in the scholarship of teaching and learning; providing direction and support through strategic planning to meet the employee's educational needs identified through structural needs assessments, regulatory agency requirements, quality outcomes data and leadership direction.
Serves as a role model and expert for clinical educators and advocates for their continued growth and professional development.
Bachelors Degree of Nursing (BSN) required.
Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
2 years of experience as a clinical nurse preferred.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Must have the ability and willingness to travel as needed to meet the system educational needs.
Must have the ability to display knowledge and utilization of principles of adult learning.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
